Construction of magazine cover first draft

To begin my magazine cover I chose a font from dafont.com called scratch punk for my masthead. I have altered it by changing the colour to red and curning it closer together.

I wanted to give a ripped effect in the corner of my page to insert a puff, to begin this I tried to use a tutorial on YouTube however it didn't work so I downloaded a brush from brusheezy.com. This helped me to create the effect I wanted so I have coloured in the corner and inserted the official logo for Reading and Leeds.

For my sell lines I have downloaded the font "Bebas Neue" from dafont.com and inserted them into my photoshop document. The additional text at the bottom of the page was edited to look like the type of text used by Kerrang.

Before inserting the cover image into the photoshop file, I edited the output levels. I then inserted it and decided to use a different image to represent the pop punk genre.

I decided to use this one because it shows the pop-punk attitude and is similar to the style of Kerrang magazine.

I have inserted a banner for my main sell line as it was hard to choose a colour that matched my main image with it not blending in.

After inserting my sell lines, the first draft for my cover is complete.
